Card Game Test

Jamie play tested a card game as a first iteration of Migrations of Cool. This game attempted to simulate Hackney Wick as a system of industrial and community spaces that become inhabited by artists, who subsequently attract property developments that seek to capitalize on the aura of ‘cool’.

The card game was way too complicated and confusing for players, so the next step will be to make a simple board game that maps the system in a more readily accessible way. It’s always tempting to try to mirror the complexity of the real world when making a political game. But excessive complexity is decidedly non-fun! So next time we’ll keep things more open and let the players just play…
